Milwaukee M12 12-Volt Battery Xenon Work Light Model # 49-24-0145

Alright, I Found a 10 off coupon code for Home Depot on Slick Deals. Now Lowes always has coupon codes online like 10 off of 50 dollars, and 20 dollars off of 100 dollars, but Home Depot doesn’t really give out coupon codes so when I saw the 10 off coupon, and that it worked for anything over 10 dollars I ended up using it on several items, one being the Milwaukee M12 Xenon work light. Yea I said Xenon, not LED, which Milwaukee does make but at almost double the price.

I ended up getting the Xenon version because it was on sale over Christmas, down to 14.97 and after the 10 off coupon I paid $5.32 out of pocket. No brainer right? Well not so fast, the little light is great, it’s compact, uses both the regular 2 amp small batteries, but also the larger XC high capacity batteries too. It comes with a magnetic backing for hands free use, 90 degree pivoting head. Those are the all the good things.

Top is the Magnetic the bottom is the On/Off switch

Now the bad thing about it, the Xenon light bulb gives terrible output compared to LED. It’s like going back to the 1990’s light technology. With all the cheap LED flash lights that are out there, why Milwaukee would still be selling a work light with old technology is beyond me. The only thing that I can think of is that they had a lot of them in inventory and are phasing them out. Don’t get me wrong it works fine, and you can use it while working on your vehicle, among other things, but I’m going to look into buying a LED replacement light bulb that Milwaukee sells and swap out the Xenon light for it. Or you can Google a generic LED light bulb from site like ebay.

All in all it’s ok, would I recommend it, yes if you get it under 15 dollars.
