3 Ton Heavy Duty Floor Jack Rapid Pump Pittsburgh Item#68048

Ok, so I had this old floor jack I purchased from Discount Auto Parts about 13 years ago, don’t remember the brand but it was blue in color and was leaking from the seal. So a few years ago I needed a new pump. I read some of the Harbor Freight reviews on their steel 3 ton floor Rapid Pump Floor Jack, mostly all good. Back 2-3 years ago they were normally 98 dollars, add with the 20% coupon I got it for 78 bucks or so, which I thought was a steal. Know a days with a super coupon you can get it as low as $69.99 plus tax.

I mainly purchased it to do a lift kit installation on my 2010 Jeep JK Unlimited. Even with the tall ride height on the Jeep I could lift it from the center chassis and un-mounted both stock tires on each side at once. I must admit when I added the lift kit to the Jeep it was not possible to do it that way anymore so I lifted it by the axle and worked on front or rear set of tires at the same time.

The main reason I purchased this Jack because it was all steel, now I know many people rather get an aluminum floor jack because they are light weight, but I’m always afraid that the aluminum jacks will crack and my car might crash down to the floor. Note I always use jack stands on any vehicle I am working on.

The Steel Floor Jack has two pump pistons for a rapid lift, normally takes me 6 to 7 pumps to lift a car up to the maximum lift height of 18 ¼ inches. You can grease the pivot joint through a zerk fitting. The casters feel and look heavy duty. The aluminum handle, even though it comes in two parts, feels strong, and has foam padded grip on top of the handle to protect your vehicle. You twist the handle clockwise to lock it and pump up the arm, when you turn it counter clockwise the pressure valve releases and the Jack goes down.

So far this Jack has performed well; I’ve done countless tire rotations, and it has done its job. The low profile feature fits my wife’s Honda Accord just fine. All in all it’s a great, heavy, jack and well worth it.
