Dewalt D26950 Heat gun

About a couple of weeks ago I was walking through the aisles at  Lowe’s and noticed the Dewalt D26950 Heat gun on clearance. The original price was 69.00, but it was marked down to 34.50. Now I have a really old Black and Decker heat gun with a wood handle that only goes one speed and temperature. It’s a nice gun but I've blackened some wires while shrinking tubing. So I ended up buying it.

I did get a chance to use it recently on some PVC electrical conduit that I was working with, during my recent pool renovation. The pool company had already inserted the light niche box, it was my job to work on the PVC conduit. 

The Dewalt D26950 Heat Gun made bending and adjusting the electrical PVC conduit a breeze. Yea I know there are 45 and 90 degree bends you can buy, but there are times that you need to make several bends at a time in a tight area and the only way you can get it done is with a heat gun. The heat range goes from 120 degrees, all the way up to 1100 degrees. Just be careful and start on a low setting, because if you start high you’ll melt the plastic, making it useless.  

The neatest feature about the Dewalt heat gun is the folding stand legs (kick Stand). These legs allow you to lay it on its back, keep it from falling sideways. The (Kick Stand) would allow you stand it facing up, and work on some heat shrink tubing wire connection without having to hold the gun in your hand. 

                                                                                                                                                                 

All in all its a real nice heat gun, now all I have to do is buy a heat gun accessory kit from Harbor Freight, , since I purchased the display model, it was missing the metal tips.
