VamPLIERS VT-001

I was browsing The Garage Journal “Hot Deals” section the other day and came across a Hot Deal sale of Vampliers that someone had posted on GJ. Well after reading some of the posts about them and looking at them online, I ended up biting, and ordered a pair for myself. They where on sale ended up paying $17.99 for them which is a decent price, seeing that they range anywhere for 24 dollars, all the way up to 40 dollars.

I just received them on Friday, and just used them on a roofing nail that was stuck in my wife’s tire. Now I could have used a regular set of needle nose pliers, but I used my new Vampliers. Boy did they grip on, not only was I able to pull the nail out with them, but due to the tips vertical grooves I was able to twist the nail left and right, thus wiggling it out. Now I could have done the same thing with a regular set of pliers, yes, but the would have caused me to put in a little more effort in it. I would have had to yank out the nail, instead of twisting it side to side.

The Vampliers are made in Japan and appear to be made extremely well. The grips look like they belong on a robot, but are actually quite comfortable, and feel good in my hand. The Vampliers come with a plastic, rubber tip that is used for storage. They have a metal spring behind the pivot point that keeps the jaws open. I can see how they could be useful in removing worn out screws. Know if you’re like me, and have a-lot of pliers in your drawers, but don’t have a set of Vampliers, get a set, they are worth the investment.I can see that they will come in handy in the future.
