Just purchased a Knipex electrician’s 4 in 1 multi-purpose long nose pliers Model # 13 01 614. They where on sale for 19.99 at Lowes. They are designed with the features to cut, strip, grip and crimp wire strips from 10, 12, 14 AWG.
The cutting edges are made of high grade special tool steel, oil-hardened and tempered. They are made in Germany, and are the first set of German tools I have ever owned.
I’ve tried them out on some 14 gauge wire and the cuts were crisp and smooth. It might be because the edges are new, but they cut great, especially compared to my Kobalt pliers. The grips are red plastic dipped, much like Channel lock type pliers.
